“Homeland is an American political thriller television series developed by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa based on the Israeli series Hatufim (English title: Prisoners of War), which was created by Gideon Raff. The series stars Claire Danes as Carrie Mathison, a Central Intelligence Agency officer with bipolar disorder, and Damian Lewis as Nicholas Brody, a U.S. Marine Corps Scout Sniper. Claire Danes is a fantastic actress! You will be amazed how well she plays the role of Carrie Mathison. If you love political dramas as well as an intricate love story, this tv show will be your love.

I am into this TV SERIES, a lot,  and I can’t wait to Season six comes out! 😀

Nº4

SPARTACUS

“Spartacus is an American television series produced in New Zealand that premiered on Starz on January 22, 2010, and concluded on April 12, 2013. The series was inspired by the historical figure of Spartacus, a Thracian gladiator who from 73 to 71 BCE led a major slave uprising against the Roman Republic departing from Capua. Executive producers Steven S. DeKnightand Robert Tapert focused on structuring the events of Spartacus’ obscure early life leading up to the beginning of historical records.

After the completion of the first season titled Spartacus: Blood and Sand, production for another season was delayed because lead actor Andy Whitfield was diagnosed with early-stage non-Hodgkin lymphoma so Starz produced a six-episode prequel mini-series entitled Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. When the actor’s cancer recurred and he later died on September 11, 2011, Starz had actor Liam McIntyre take on the role of Spartacus in the second season titled Spartacus: Vengeance. On June 4, 2012, Starz announced the third and final season, titled Spartacus: War of the Damned. – Wikipedia”

I watched SPARTACUS with my boyfriend less than a year ago.

Is an intricate story but gets your attention so well! We were so caught up with every season.

It’s a pity there are no more episodes to watch, but I can’t recommend enough this TV SHOW!

WARNING & DISCLAIMER: If you are a sensitive watching: violence, gore, blood and hard sex scenes; this tv series is not meant for you.

Nº3

The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead is a post-apocalyptic zombie drama.

4ude2wwe_400x400

“Rick Grimes is a former Sheriff’s deputy who has been in a coma for several months after being shot while on duty. When he awakens, he discovers that the world has been ravished by a zombie epidemic of apocalyptic proportions and that he seems to be the only person still alive. After returning home to discover his wife and son missing, he runs into survivors Morgan and his son; who teach him the ropes of the new world. He then heads for Atlanta to search for his family. Narrowly escaping death at the hands of the zombies on arrival in Atlanta, he is aided by another survivor, Glenn, who takes Rick to a camp outside the town. There Rick finds his wife Lori and his son, Carl, along with his partner/best friend Shane and a small group of survivors who struggle to fend off the zombie hordes; as well as competing with other surviving groups who are prepared to do whatever it takes to survive in this harsh new world. – Written by Contributors”

The whole story will make you want not even miss an episode. You may gonna think, after some seasons: “Why do I keep watching this TV show? (especially me)” Because the truth is, the first 30 minutes are pretty much conversation and little action the good things happen at 5 minutes to end the episode. You are basically, forced to watch the next episode.

If you become a “THE WALKING DEAD” good fan you may want to read the comics as well.

Game of Throne is that kind of tv series that you just want to watch for hours and hours.

The plot is tangled and could be complex, so, you must follow and understand each episode. Once you are into the story, you will not be able to stop loving this TV series.

And now…

MY FAVOURITE TV SHOW at the moment is…

I am not going to lie. I love and I am obsessed with this HORROR tv show!

If you are a horror/enigma movie lover, you will get so caught by this story, incredibly taken. Every episode makes you crave for more and more.

Not everybody is keen to watch it, because of some violent scenes or the gore but as I said, if you are into horror don’t miss this out.

Little secret #1: IUD(copper coil)

Hello my dear friends,

In today’s post, I want to share with you, my experience having a particular anticontraceptive device… COIL better know as IUD (Intrauterine device).

I am a very reserved person, but I think this post will help many confused women out there, because, is my personal experience.

I have never been in any anticontraceptive method, not even before meeting my current boyfriend.

Since I start dating my boyfriend the worry of getting pregnant was growing, therefore, I  decided to go to a GP to be assessed on contraceptive methods.

The doctor gave me a leaflet with all the options nowadays available. To be honest, I was scared. I never liked the thought of having hormones in my body (and I will never accept hormonal pills). I link the leaflet, with all the contraceptive methodologies available: your-guide-to-contraception

You can start by finding out about the methods of contraception you can choose from, including how they work, who can use them and possible side effects. These methods are:

There are two permanent methods of contraception:

Because I am in a long term relationship, the doctor suggested me going for the IUD.

Now, the thing is, there are two types of COIL: one with progesterone(hormones) and the other is no hormonal (copper).

My plan, since the beginning, was going for the no hormonal option.

The coil is a tiny device of a T-shape that is inserted into the womb to prevent pregnancy.

The hormonal coil can last from 3 to 5 years, the copper coil for 5-10 years. The copper coil downside is that can make your periods longer, heavier and painful.

The procedure:

In the UK, getting a COIL is free of charge. You will need to book an appointment with your GP and then is all set up.

The day of the appointment they will ask you to take ibuprofen or diazepam (if prescribed) an hour before you get your COIL. Doctors will ask you some private information before proceeding. The doctor will warn of one of the risks of the COIL: perforation of the tubes and the pain of the procedure.

Let’s be honest: it hurts.

The procedure, in my case, was longer than expected.

The pain was equal or worse than period pain. After having a rest, the pain felt is similar to a period pain, you bleed a bit too. The doctor says the pain will last for a couple of days and then should be all set.

If the pain aggravates, you will need to go to your GP to eventually get it removed.

23/06/2016

Today is the second day. I have period pain. I am taking painkillers (Ibuprofen, co-codamol) and trying to rest as much as possible. For the bleed spots, don’t use tampons, only pads.

I read somewhere that you will need to change your diet habits: avoid junk food and high processed food, eat food rich in Iron, vitamins A, C, K. Drink water.

I will keep an update on this topic.

I hope my experience helped a bit.

See you soon !

Update! Eye bags and dark cirles

Helloooooooo there!

In my last post, I reviewed and narrated my experience with some eye products:

  • Etude House – Collagen eye patches
  • Simple – Eye roll on
  • Simple – Eye balm
  • Lush – Enchanted

( Click the link below to go to my previous post!)

Eye Puffiness/Panda Eyes, HELP!

Today, I am going to talk about three new products:

  • CLARINS – Eye contour gel
  • Kiehl’s – Midnight Recovery Concentrate
  • Kiehl’s – Super Multi-Corrective Eye-Opening Serum

CLARINS – EYE CONTOUR GEL ——- THE WORST CREAM EVER

I went to Clarins’stand in House Of Fraser, in order to get a sample of the Eye Contour Gel. The assistant explained me the benefits of this gel on puffiness and dark circles, assuring it is a suitable product for sensitive skins. I was curious so she gave me a sample to try for one week.

What to say?

Lies, Lies, Lies.

I was thrilled to try this product.

It looked a good product and is a well-known brand.

The gel is crystal blue with a jelly texture. Fast absorption but looks shiny on the skin after applying it.

At night, after putting the gel on my eye bags, I felt a burning sensation under my eyes.

The day after, I had two rashes skin and dryness underneath my eyes. That morning, I went to work, everything was okay until I started feeling the burning sensation again. The sting was intense but I didn’t want to scratch my eyes, although I knew something was not right. A co-worker pointed out that my eyes were swollen, puffy and red.

Scared, I checked myself in the mirror… I was a monster!

After two hours, I took antihistamines and washed my face with cold water. I couldn’t believe myself.  I was about to cry.

I had to go to the doctors and get a prescription for dry/burnt skin problems. Thanks, God! was just a tiny sample.

I decided to send and email to Clarins and explain my experience. They did not reply.

How nice is that, thank you CLARINS.

In brief, if you are young with sensitive skin and your concern are eye bags, stay away from this eye cream.

£31 for 20ml.

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

I love Kiehls stuff, so I decided to pay a visit to their shop and talk to an assistant. The girl from Kiehl’s gave me a sample to try this cream. She said to pat it onto your skin before going to bed.

Following the instructions I opened the little sample, and the cream is rich, thick and white at a touch. Under the eyes doesn’t sting, it feels fresh and creamy.

It contains natural extracts and oils like rose extract, squalane oil, Omega 3 & 6 – which helps to protect the facial skin and give it the needed moisture! Lavender Essential Oil helps soothe inflamed or irritated skin.

Has been a week, since I started using this cream; I haven’t noticed a difference.

Must be my stubborn dark circles that don’t want fade.

Overall, I love the cream although is a bit pricey: £39 for 30ml

Kiehl’s – Super Multi-Corrective Eye-Opening Serum

The lady from Kiehl’s also showed me this cream and explained me the benefits of the ingredients of this one within 28 days.

The cream is paraben-free, mineral-oil-free, fragrance-free, colorant-free, and suitable for sensitive eyes.

The lady told me to apply the cream every day, during the day, to see a difference.

The cream is light, white and smells amazing. Don’t irritate your delicate skin.

Unfortunately, not even this cream worked for my dark circles and puffiness.

Is also expensive considering is only 15 ml: £36

I would not rebuy this product.

Well, guys, these are my updated reviews. Hope it helped.

Next time, I will review Superdrug products!

See you soon!
